Shipping Policy

Please note that shipping charges are extra. We use Canada Post XpressPost for small parcels within North America. Larger shipments, and packages outside North America, ship via FedEx or equivalent International Priority at our discretion.

We prefer to only ship Mink chocolates when the weather in both Vancouver and the specified ship to address is cool enough to preserve the integrity of the chocolates.

Chocolate free of preservatives and fillers (like ours) begins to melt at 23 C / 72 F. Please review the following in regards to our shipping policy.

All products are sold “F.O.B. Vancouver, BC, CANADA, freight prepaid and charged back”. That means we as seller pay the freight and add it to the invoice. You then own the goods in transit and make and file any claims with the carrier.

Chocolate shipments will not require a signature upon delivery unless specifically requested. All claims for damage must be directed to the carrier. We cannot be held responsible if the recipient is not available for the delivery attempt(s). Some very rural areas have limited shipping options. Chocolate can only be delivered if properly addressed. We rely on the accuracy of the address input into the purchase order. Items received by us having been Returned to Sender are subject to an additional $10 secondary shipping fee. If you choose not to purchase postage for re-delivery, the order will be considered abandoned.

We do not provide Saturday delivery and do not ship over the weekend. Orders may be processed and shipped same day if placed by 11AM Pacific Standard Time, if it is in stock, but there is no guarantee. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday and Sundays will ship Monday, unless Monday is a statutory holiday, then they will ship Tuesday, if it is in stock. Orders placed on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays for in-store pickup may not be picked and packed and ready for pickup until Monday, if it is in stock. All in store pickup orders will only be available when an email has been sent advising that the order is ready. Orders bought online with “pick up in store” having been chosen as the no charge shipping option will be available only at the Southeast Vancouver factory location, during regular business hours.

We generally keep inventory on hand for longer shelf life products. Anything with a ganache filling is considered short shelf life, and will be made to order. Please allow up to one week for your order to ship if we have to make all or part of the order fresh.

Orders for pick up in store will be considered abandoned if not claimed within 15 days of the date the order was placed.

Orders to the United States only ship on Mondays to allow sufficient time to clear customs.

The box your chocolate(s) will be shipped in may not be the most attractive as we choose to recycle our packaging. It’s what’s inside that’s pretty.

Sending chocolates to someone else? You can include a note card with your personal message.

We use our best efforts to ship all orders within 48 hours of receipt of the order. Circumstances beyond our control may not always make that possible. Delays up to two weeks have previously occurred. Email us for more information if your chocolate has a drop-dead date for receipt. To ensure you get your package in time order by December 15th for Christmas and February 7th for Valentines Day. We have no control over US Customs. In our post-9/11 world foodstuffs are considered a threat to the population at large, and may be opened for inspection and/or refused entry into the United States or any other country. We try to ensure that all shipments are insured for their value, and in the event of a claim against the carrier for non-delivery, we will refund your money in a timely manner.

Orders originating outside North America and/or being shipped outside North America need to be verified for cardholder identity. Orders will only ship to the same address as that of the purchaser. Please scan and send us your passport, as well as a second piece of government issued identification that shows your mailing address, and the front and back of the credit card. Orders will process as soon as we can establish that the billing address for the credit card is the same as that of the purchaser and the recipient.

NOTE: It’s not uncommon for some countries to have protectionist policies in place that prohibit the importation of chocolate, even in small quantities for personal consumption. Please check your local governmental policy before placing your order.
